Unique, Gourmet Breed of Pork Mangalitsa pigs are known for two things: their thick, curly coats, and their gourmet, heavily-marbled, deep red pork. These specialty piggies are pasture-raised on our small farm on the hillsides of Vermont, on a diet of fresh air, quality food, and daily head scratches. This heritage breed is slow-growing, and thus, more expensive to raise than more common hybrid breeds. But the juicy, flavorful pork they provide is well worth the wait! Home chefs and foodies are also beginning to realize that all pork is not created equal, and breeds like mangalitsa can completely change their perspective on pork. |
